General McChrystal Visits German Troops in Northern Afghanistan

General Stanley McChrystal, the Commander of ISAF and US forces in Afghanistan, visited the province of Kunduz on July 29, where he met with German troops and the local Governor and acknowledged a growing insurgency in the region. He also emphasized the importance of protecting the Afghans, warning "If you fall prey to letting the Taliban cause us to harm the Afghan people, they win."
